ROBERT HAS A PASSION FOR TEACHING AND IS KEEN TO DEVELOP THIS SIDE OF HIS WORK.

He tutors and coaches all ages, from beginners and the curious to professional performers, from his home in Suffolk and in London.

With the onset of the Covid 19 he has been teaching online and connecting with students across the UK and in Europe with great success.

Robert’s aim is to help each student find their unique individual voice - a voice that strives to be free, expressive, flexible and true. This exploration and the techniques used can also help relieve the stresses of day to day living and general mental health anxieties.

Every lesson begins with a physical and vocal warm up guided by the individual needs of the student. This gives the student a framework from which they can explore the key elements of singing

- BREATHING

- CREATING A SUPPORTED SOUND

- EXTENDING RANGE

- ENCOURAGING FLEXIBILITY ACROSS THE RANGE.

- BUILDING AND DEVELOPING CONFIDENCE.

- EXPLORING STORY TELLING.

These techniques and tools are then put in to practice. We explore a wide range of repertoire from popular songs to Music Theatre and Opera.

The lessons range from 30 mins to one hour depending on age and need.

Robert has studied voice with a number of leading vocal practitioners namely Cynthia Hoffmann at Manhattan School of Music in New York, Steve Smith at the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, Paul Farrington and Peter Harrison in the UK. He currently works with Joy Mammen in London.
